Englands policy seems to havebeen to scrupulously respect all Mos-lem observances. The governmentofficials observe Friday as a holiday,out of respect to the Moslem, and per-form the work of the Egyptian Gov-ernment on Sunday. The Englishofficer in the army will take part inMoslem religious ceremonies, and firesalutes at religious festivals. In theEgyptian Soudan conditions are evenworse.
