This was in Addo Elephant National Park, as I tried to make my way through traffic I found myself extremely close to an elephant group right near the road with cars in front and behind me. Addo elephants are much calmer that Kruger, but I was still a little anxious but no where to go. When the baby, smaller than Dumbo, decided to charge me I drove off road a bit then gunned the engine to scare him back, luckily Mom was cool and kept him at home. In Kruger, my car would have been smashed but a bunch of other cars would not have boxed me in either. Would have liked to get some nice photos of the baby but one hand was on the wheel at all times. Pretty sure I don’t want to meet that young one in 20 years or so. Brown bear cubs do that often but I’ve not seen a baby elephant getting rank before.
