This is footage of elephants drinking at a watering hole at Addo Elephant Safari Lodge in South Africa. The video was taken by Albee Yeend, our Africa General Manager, on the 25 March 2009… “I was lucky enough to be flown by Mark Andrews, (who owns the charter company African Ramble and Addo Elephant Safari Lodge),from Plettenberg Bay to Addo, which is a stunning 60 minute scenic flight. Addo Elephant Back Safaris and Lodge is situated within the Greater Addo Elephant National Park and offers tented suites on elevated wooden decks.
When we arrived we had a delicious lunch next to a waterhole and then in the late afternoon we were taken for a drive around, stopping for sundowners on platform perched high up with stunning views. The following morning, we went riding on the elephants, which was a wonderful experience and one that we felt for a few days afterwards!”
